Saddle nose or supra break tip? 16 months post rhinoplasty noticed a dip between bridge and tip (Photo)

You don’t have a saddle nose. Your result is quite good and I don’t see a i problem with it at all. The changes occurred as the swelling went down

Hello and thank you for your question. I definitely would NOT call that saddle nose- you have a nice, aesthetic supratip break. It is important to remember that after rhinoplasty (nasal surgery), the nose can become REALLY swollen, particularly around the tip, and this swelling can take a LONG TIME to resolve (up to 2 years to fully resolve). If things were previously straight all down the dorsum to the tip and this supratip break just recently appeared, what has happened is the swelling has likely finally gone down to the point that this aspect of the surgery is finally becoming noticeable. You are still only 16 months post-op, so ultimately you should still wait to see what your final results will be. I constantly remind all my rhinoplasty patients how important it is to be patient after rhinoplasty surgery as it can take up to 2 years to see what the final nose will look like. I hope this helps!

Hello, hope you are well. You do not have a saddle nose deformity. The transition point from your nasal tip to the dorsum is referred to as the supra-tip break. Of course, everyone has their own aesthetic goals, but a supra-tip break is generally considered to be a desirable/favorable feature.

Supra tip break verse saddle nose: you definitely do not have a saddle nose. You have a supratip break which in most cases is considered to be a very pretty feminine feature. I often inject steroids to thesupratip area in patients postoperatively to reduce scar tissue and try to create a supratip break. if it was not there before the Cortizone shot you got and was there after it, it might be the Cortizone that helped produce it. But either way it is usually considered a desirable feature and sets the tip of the nose apart from the bridge, which gives it a very feminine appearance.
