Second opinion on rhinoplasty after lymphoma remission?

Question

Hi! Had a rhinoplasty booked in about a year in advance. Ended up being diagnosed for classic hogkins lymphoma. Have now finished treatment and will find out my remission status soon. But my blood counts everything looking really good through the treatment time. The surgery is in two months time. I haven’t yet canceled. I contacted the surgeon who said I could still get rhinoplasty after cancer / remission but want second opinions. Thank you

It would be wise to ask your hematologyst for clearance. I see not reason why you should not have rhinoplasty within next 2 months if your remission is stable. Good luck.

I am so sorry to hear about your diagnosis, however, the possible of remission and cure may be very high. If your blood work is normal, and if your oncologist feels that your healing would be normal, I wish you nothing but the best moving forward with your prospective rhinoplasty surgery.

Hello and thank you for your question. The appropriate person to make this recommendation would be your medical oncologist who is treating you. If they clear you for surgery, then it is safe to proceed forward. After that, I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person.

I don’t think anybody is going to Jan with a strong opinion based on not having access to completed information whenever this situation is complex.
If your oncologist has cleared you for having cosmetic surgery and your plastic surgeon is OK with doing it and that should be sufficient.
