You can certainly have a procedure that only addresses the bridge. It's possible to do under local anesthesia, but you would have to be pretty stoic to do so. Also, an evaluation is needed because if enough bridge is taken down, then the bones will have to be brought in which would necessitate general anesthesia. Be sure to see a rhinoplasty expert for consultation.

As far as I can understand from your question the operation I will recommend to you will definitely be an open rhinoplasty operation under general anesthesia, both permanent result and it is possible for the surgeon to easily see and intervene in every area.

Your deformity is very minor. This can most likely be rasped using a closed approach. You will need this done under general anesthesia as the procedure will be too painful under local anesthesia.

Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photograph, you may benefit from a rhinoplasty. I would not recommending doing anything under local anethesia. Rasping without performing osteotomies would leave an open roof deformity of the dorsum. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person.

Whenever we remove a bump from the bridge of somebody's nose, their nasal appearance becomes wider on the table. This necessitates osteotomies to narrow the upper and middle thirds of the nose. YES, you may have the "hump" (rhinion) cut and or rasped under local anesthesia without a larger surgery, but risk of disappointment with result. The hump is mostly cartilage which may not rasp so well and need to be cut for sufficient reduction. The hump also has a bony (osseous) component. Lowering the osseo-cartilaginous junction (hump) may produce visible irregularities that we camouflage with small grafts, DBM, and other solutions difficult to control with limited visualization. Can consider "liquid" rhinoplasty, but that would detract from other nice features of your very beautiful nose. There is more, but space for answer limited.

Is your nose fine as it is? in my opinion, your nose is fine as it is. You have what we call an aqualine profile. This is a very striking and natural yet beautiful look. If you left your nose alone, I think it would be fine. If however you wish to rasp the dorsal hump down, then the nasal bones would have to be infractured to close what would become an open roof. That is not a very big procedure but it would be more comfortable done asleep than awake.

The dorsum is one of them.
To make a quality assessment regarding the appearance of the nose, we need to see quality of full facial pictures.
Each area looks the way it does only in context with surrounding areas.
We never make assessments based on areas without the context of the rest of the face.
This is especially true for dorsal assessments.
The size and appearance of the chin has a big impact on how we see the dorsum.
I suggest having a few in person, consultations with plastic surgeons in your community.
For rhinoplasty surgery are usually recommend people seek out plastic surgeons who have proven track record with this procedure.
Even for fairly straightforward, simpler, nasal procedures, it’s still better to find someone who has extensive rhinoplasty experience with a proven track record.
I generally always recommend in person consultations.
Get a complete proper set of facial pictures and bring those with you to use as reference during the consultation.
Don’t rely on memory or looking in mirrors during the consult.
This is especially true when reviewing before, and after pictures of previous patients who had similar nasal characteristics.
