I have an asymmetrical nose that I would like to improve. The left side is “puffier” and cartilage is more pronounced. It is bulbous and I would like it to be less so. I am happy with the size as my nose is still fairly small but I would like more symmetry. I have type 2 rosacea which I am working to control before plunging to a procedure. Advice on if my request is possible please
Answer: Rhinoplasty Filler is just added to the nose and does not correct the underlying bone and cartilage abnormalities. You would be better off with a rhinoplasty to correct the bone and cartilage and achieve better symmetry. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Rhinoplasty may be considered for improving upon a wide and asymmetrical nasal tip appearance. That said, you appear to have very thin skin, and irregularities are more common in those people who have thin skin that request rhinoplasty surgery. If you have severe dissatisfaction with the appearance of your nasal tip, please consider meeting with several reputable rhinoplasty specialist so you could see what to achieve after surgery. I hope this helps! Sincerely, Dr Joseph

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photographs, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty. Your surgeon can accomplish this by trimming, suturing, and reshaping the cartilage in your lower nose. Cartilage grafts may also be used to help improve tip refinement. This can also be designed to improve symmetry. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Reish, M.D. Harvard-trained plastic surgeon

Answer: Rhinoplasty vs liquid rhinoplasty patients who are concerned about a bulbous tip are best addressed with a surgical procedure, rather than liquid rhinoplasty. Liquid rhinoplasty is designed for very specific concerns- mainly for patients who have modest dorsal hump or that want slightly more projection in the nasal tip. A bulbous tip is caused by overly prominent lower lateral cartilages and is best managed with reshaping and repositioning these cartilage structures. This can only be accomplished with a surgical procedure.
