Lipo after weight loss - Would I be suitable for lipo without a tuck? (photo)

Because you’ve lost 80 pounds, definitely tummy tuck would be the best procedure to have. I know at the age that you are and wanted to have kids contribute to you not wanting it as an option but having the surgery does not prohibit you from having children in the future, if anything it could just distend the abdominal wall and in the future you could need a adjustment; if you moved forward only with Liposuction, what could happen is the skin most likely will not retract completely and you can be left behind with irregularities as what you have in majority is loose skin and the only way to successfully treat loose skin is by removal.

A reduction in the volume under your skin is possible with liposuction. What is difficult to predict is how well your skin will retract after the removal of that volume. The fact that you’ve lost 80 pounds and that you have stretch marks on your skin are indications that your skin does not have as much elasticity it once had and may affect your outcome.

based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a TT. Full tummy tuck should tighten your abdominal muscles and remove the excess skin. Flanks liposuction would give you a better shape. Yes, liposuction can be done and the skin may hang. However, you are young and the skin may retract quite well. It is possible that you may benefit from a mini tummy tuck.

Hello and thank you for your photos and question. Looking at your photos your skin quality is not the best. Your skin may have bounced back after weightless as this is a gradual thing over time but with liposuction it may not tighten up very well and this will leave you with an apron look with saggy skin. Your best approach would be tummy tuck with liposuction and fat grafting. If you are planning to have children, I would recommend waiting until you are done having babies. I wish you the best.

Liposuction does so well now but you need the skin tightening effects of Quantum/Morpheus at the same time for best results. I don'[t do tummy tucks anymore since they are usually not needed with such good skin tightening lipo results.

While your skin is in pretty good shape after the weight loss, my big worry would be loose or irregular skin after ;liposuction.

Even the best lipo result would be a "5" in my opinions, whereas a tummy tuck would give you an "8 to 10"

Thank you for your question. Liposuction can reduce the volume of the subcutaneous fat, but it will not address the skin excess. Modalities such as Renuvion exist to help tighten skin (to some extent), but after massive weight loss, I believe this would not be adequate to meet what I expect your goals are. Unless you are happy with a significant skin apron (skin excess), a tummy tuck is what I would recommend. As always, seek consultation with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon . Hello, thank you for your question and photo. Unfortunately, your skin quality has been stretched and is not in the best shape to preform just liposuction and get rid of the apron look. I would recommend Liposuction with a Tummy Tuck to flatten and smooth out the area of your tummy however, since you want to have children, I would recommend waiting to do a tummy tuck until you have your babies. Keep in mind liposuction could be performed but it would not be the ideal or perfect outcome. It will reduce fullness but not get rid of the apron hang in your lower abdomen. Coolsculpting is a great tool to use for troubled areas of fat reduction without the down time but again keep in mind this will only reduce the fat and not get rid of the apron hanging skin, however, could be a good interim solution until you have your children.
