Lip filler lumps. Is this due to overfilling? (Photo)

Lumpiness is usually a direct reflection of how the fillers were injected. Different providers have different techniques for how to do lip fillers. My preferred method is to use a long needle which can reach all the way from the oral commissure to the half way point of the lip(midline,) making single injection line rather than making multiple injections using the short needles that come with the kit.
Sometimes fillers can leave residual volume over time, despite giving the filler sufficient time to go away or using reversal enzymes.
The key is always to find the best provider, and this is easier said than done.
I sometimes refer people to Dr. David Mabry MD in San Francisco. His website has hundreds of before and after pictures that show what quality work should look like.
I’m not suggesting people travel to San Francisco to have fillers done if you live far away, but seeing his results gives people an idea of what quality work looks like and what can be achieved, using fillers.
Those who are inherently talented generally do overall the best work, regardless of what area is being treated.
In my opinion, the biggest problem with lip fillers is using the short needles that come with the product.
Using good technique, the ability to inject lip fillers without discomfort and minimizing the chance of bleeding/bruising are the generally hallmarks of quality work.
This point, I suggest giving yourself plenty of time and see what happens. It’s possible to end up with permanent contour, irregularities from the use of fillers.
I cannot emphasize provider selection enough.
Finding the right provider is not always easy or straightforward.
Repeat injection and dissolving is not a good strategy.
