I had left upper eyelid ptosis surgery - 1 year later and there is still asymmetry with 2 creases (Photo)

Question

In January 2022 I had left upper eyelid filler to try and fix my ptosis asymmetry without getting ptosis surgery. The filler was done to try and create an eyelid fold/crease. it created a crease, however the ptosis was still there so I got ptosis surgery. The ptosis surgery created an eyelid crease that made it symmetrical with my right eye. However, the original crease from the filler is still there. I'm not sure if it's hollowness or filler, please help! The asymmetry is so bad.

You can always get the filler dissolved if it was an hyaluronic acid filler such as Juvederm or restylane. Another option would be to have the excess skin of both of your eyelids removed. This surgery is called upper eyelid blepharoplasty, done under local anesthesia and it can recreate a symmetric crease of both eyelids.

Although filler may partially camouflage upper eyelid asymmetry, it s not treatment for ptosis. Surgical procedure to correct lenght of levator muscle, done as a part of upper blepharoplasty would correct ptosis and create more symmetric fold. Consultation with plastic or oculoplastic surgeon is recommended. Good luck.
