Ptosis is a droopy upper eyelid that is often congenital. And experienced oculoplastic surgeon should be able to evaluate you and provide a surgical plan to help restore symmetry by opening up the droopy lid. You need a specialty surgical consultant who practices oculoplastic surgery. That is an ophthalmologist who is specialty trained in oculoplastic surgery. While it is clear that one eyelid is heavier than the other, it is also clear that you have ptosis of both eyelids and both sides will need surgery. The plastic surgeon suggesting a frontalis sling is not accurate in my opinion. There is no substitute for a detailed personal consultation. However it is highly likely that the surgery you need is anterior levator resection surgery.

There are muscles on our upper eyelids to keep them open, it is levator muscle. People with weak or absent levator muscles in the upper eyelid, they have congenital ptosis like you. This can be mild, moderate or severe. Techniques which address levator muscle or frontal sling will probably help you. Removing the skin will not solve this case.You should be examined by an ophthalmologist or by a plastic surgeon experienced with oculoplastic surgery.
