Cartilage bump after 3 years. What is this? Does it need to be fixed? (Photo)

Question

I had closed septorhinoplasty in end 2018 had my septum straightened and a bump on my nose bridge shaved down. I was never really happy with the result but didn’t want to go back under the knife so I just avoid mirrors. But now I’ve all of a sudden developed a bump on the top of the columella just before the top of the left nostril. It feels hard like cartilage but I can “push it” in but only if I hold it. Any idea what this is or if it needs to be fixed? I’m worried the columella is separating

What is the bump on your columella? It is hard to assess what the bump might be from a picture alone. But one possibility is that it might be a piece of cartilage that was put in as a graft. You should ask your surgeon if he put any grafts in, and if not what he did in the tip area that could cause that pump. A copy of the operative report might also shed light on this.
