I had 360 lipo and bbl back in June 2021 then shortly after (about 3 weeks) found out I was pregnant even after 12 negative tests before going turkey. still have no idea how the clinic didn’t pick up on that anyway, I obvs couldn’t wear my faja after or do massages so I didn’t heal well in my belly which is understandable however my hip? Idk how this happened but can it be fixed?!
Answer: Faja Unfortunately, despite many surgeons requiring them, they do not change long term outcomes nor does lymphatic message. You did nothing wrong!

Answer: BBL results Dear sarahh966_, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: BBL, pregnancy, compression garments and outcome It does seem like your clinic should have caught your pregnancy. In the United States it’s pretty standard to do a pregnancy test before doing elective surgical procedures. That said, I see no reason why someone couldn’t have massages or wear a compression garments and early stages of pregnancy. pregnancy goes on for three months and most patients results are final by three. Neither compression garments nor having massages have any impact on the final outcome. I personally don’t recommend massage and I do use compression garments but only for two weeks. They have no impact on the final results. There’s no possible way a compression garment or massage can change fat distribution. Your results are direct reflection of how the surgery was performed and I suppose if you carried your pregnancy that would also have had an impact to some degree because most women have substantial weight fluctuations and abdominal changes with term pregnancies. I suggest you contact the clinic and ask to get a copy of your medical records. You will then know if a pregnancy test was performed or not. At least in the United States patients have a right to receive copies of their medical records. I see no reason why you can’t have revision surgery. I would however point out that revision surgery is far more difficult than primary procedures and for that reason patients should be highly selective of who does the revision. If it’s straightforward and the primary surgeon is willing to do it for free that often makes sense to let that provider do it. Depending on how off the result is patients may do better selecting a more talented and experience provider. I do not recommend patients travel long distances for elective surgical procedures and I recommend all patients have multiple in person consultations before choosing permanent any reversible procedures. Delivering consistent quality liposuction and fat transfer results is far more difficult than most people believe and there is a substantial variation in outcomes among different providers. For that reason I suggest patients put in a serious effort in finding the most talented and experience provider in their community. During in person consultations ask each provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of before and after pictures. Being shown a handful of sample pictures which most likely represents the best results of the providers career is insufficient to get a clear understanding of what I average results look like. To put things in reference and experience provider should have no difficulty showing you at least 50 sets of before and after pictures of commonly performed procedures. Highly experienced surgeons will have hundreds or even thousands of before and after pictures. Bring with you with pictures of your own torso for reference. Ask the providers to show you as many pictures as possible of patience I have similar body characteristics to your own. ask providers to show you examples of excellent outcomes, average outcomes and less than outcomes. For fat transfer it is imperative to know when the after pictures were taken in relationship to the before pictures. For fat transfer after pictures should never be taken before three months. early fat transfer pictures can look very impressive but do not at all represent final results. Become familiarized with what quality results look like and have a grading or rating system in place to use while consulting with each provider. Vetting plastic surgeons by having multiple in person consultations is far easier done when staying local. When traveling for surgery patients who forgo having in person consultations do not have the benefit of properly vetting their provider. It’s a gamble and considering the potential consequences it is not worth it in my opinion. The number of providers who can consistently deliver quality results for both Liposuction and fat transfers in fact quite small. A substantial number of fully trained board-certified plastic surgeons are not particularly good at either Liposuction or fat transfer. In the end there are only two variables determine what someone’s outcome is going to be. The first is patient candidacy and the second is the scale and experience of the provider. Candidacy can be changed to some degree by things like weight loss but is often a variable that cannot be significantly altered. The choice of provider however patients have complete control over. Follow up with your provider and discuss your concerns with him or her. If you need a second opinion I suggest scheduling those as in person consultations coming prepared and bringing with you all before and after pictures and a copy of your operative report. To make an assessment based on pictures we need to see proper before and after pictures. If you don’t have proper before and after pictures ask your surgeon to forward the ones they took. Following up with your provider is without a question the first thing patients need to do if you have not done so already. Patients who travel for surgery seem to not appreciate the importance of having in person consultations, the number of people who have significant concerns after surgery, the number of people who end up needing revisions or the complications actually happen. If you’re going to travel for surgery then you should be prepared to travel for the consultation and the follow up visits. And the end your surgeon is responsible for your outcome and you are responsible for choosing that surgeon. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
