While some weight gain may make surgery easier and also improve the results, you will have to keep up this weight gain, which may not be easy. Excessive weight gain may also have an adverse effect on the other contours of your body. Please discuss your concerns with your Plastic surgeon who can examine you and help you get further improvement in your BBL. All the best!

Beware, if a surgeon asks you to purposely gain weight (i.e. fat) before BBL, know that the fat you lose first as you get back to your baseline weight after surgery is that very same fat that was transferred into your buttock, hence your new buttock shrinks first, the fastest, and the most...so please do not fall victim to this recommendation. Even those patients that had adequate amounts of fat pre-operatively, still end up seeking buttock implants after a year or so because most of the fat transferred melted away leaving them with minimal result. Fillers such as Sculptra are cost prohibitive, provided enough volume is injected (i.e. at least 400 cc of active ingredient costing over $300,000) and last only 12 - 18 months. So, if you're looking for a reliable, predictable, and long-term permanent option that also provides projection in the central buttock, buttock and hip implants are your solution. Please note that an extremely few number of board certified plastic surgeons specialize in buttock or hip implants, so you may need to travel far and away from home to find this particular surgeon. I personally do not recommend patients gain weight for the purpose of having fat transfer. I think most people who are leaders in the field and have a lifetime of experience well echo that sentiment.
There’s no point in gaining weight for fat transfer unless you are currently underweight or plan on maintaining the new acquired obesity into the future.
Gaining weight by itself isn’t rocket science simply start gorging on high calorie foods like pints of ice cream.
Most people look and feel their best being at a healthy BMI and veering away from that for the purpose of having body contouring is probably not wise.
Making an assessment on how much fat can be removed during a primary or secondary liposuction procedure is challenging. in my experience secondary Liposuction can achieve about 20 to 30% of what was obtained during the first procedure. in other words if liposuction of a full abdomen generated 2000 mL of fat during the first procedure it’s typical that doing a second round of liposuction should be able to generate between four and 600 milliliters from a second procedure.
If the first procedure was done in a very aggressive manner then that number will be less.
Typically when patients have a low BMI or there is a risk that insufficient fat will be harvested for a fat transfer procedure we typically start adding new areas as a source of fat for the fat transfer. first and foremost the entire torso should be treated as a single unit with no where are your left untreated. This includes treating the entire back all the way to the neck including the under arms to the front bra roll and all the way to the side of the breast. if that is not sufficient then we typically start adding extremities. Arms typically give better results than Liposuction but inner thighs can deliver more usable fat. There are cases where there’s simply isn’t enough fat and the fat transfer is simply not worth the amount of surgery for the amount of gain and patient should be steered away from having further liposuction with fat transfer.
Without posting before and after pictures or including BMI, weight or any other information the answer to your question is simply eat high calorie food and lots of it.
I don’t recommend that strategy and I think it will not lead to a quality outcome.
There may very well be sufficient amounts of fat on your body to be harvested. One doctors opinion is insufficient to get an absolute confirmation. Deliver in consistent quality both Liposuction and fat transfer results is far more difficult than most people believe and most plastic surgeons are not particularly good at these procedures.
Even those who claim to be experts or specialize in it sometimes deliver results that are subpar.
To get an accurate assessment and confirmation of this I suggest patients have multiple in person consultations staying local whenever possible. Avoid virtual consultation if at all possible.
Assessing how much fat can be harvested will absolutely require an examination.
If you have consult with other providers then you should come prepared to bringing with you all before and after pictures and a copy of your previous operative report.
Until all other sources of fat have been eliminated weight gain as an option to harvest fat is simply incorrect.
Finally I would like to also point out that without showing pictures of your outcome the potential benefit of any answer is really limited.
It may very well be that room for improvement can we had easily without necessarily requiring a substantial amount of fat.
The approach to the BBL procedure varies massively between providers and some people simply fail to have an appropriate approach to what looks good with a clear understanding of what an ideal female figure should look like.
If it all possible consider sharing proper before and after pictures to get quality responses with input that can actually be of use for you.
In the end the most important variable any individual person makes when it comes to cosmetic surgery is choosing the most talented and experience provider.
Only candidate seat and provider selection matters significantly in the end. Both are probably equally as important. patients are often inherently limited in regards to their own candidacy but have 100% control over who does the procedure.
