Botox for asymmetrical smile - would an injection at Yonsei point help? (photo)

Hi, I had Botox injected for my smile as it pulls higher on one side when I smile. However, it was a small amount and hasn’t made any difference, I wonder if the injection site is wrong as it was injected lateral to my philtrum below the nose as opposed to Yonsei point. Do you think an injection at Yonsei point would help ? Please advice. Thanks

Thank you for your enquiry. Your photo is very helpful. There are several muscles involved in your smile, namely levator labii superioris alaeque nasi, levator anguli oris, levator labii superioris, risorius, zygomaticus major and zygomaticus minor. They are in nearby areas. Depending on the assessment, your doctor might have targeted specific muscles and injected into points different to the Yonsei point. Sometimes it is just a question of trial and error with the location of the injection and the injection amount to get the desired effect.

Botox injection will take time to show it effect. Basically after few days it will show it effect and show it maximum effect around 10-14 days. Basically, botox works by weakening the muscle. So its should be injection on side where muscle is going high.
