Areola Reduction: is there an alternative to the donut technique?

Areola reduction is a common component of a number of other aesthetic breast surgery procedures such as breast reduction, breast uplift (mastopexy), and correction of tuberous breast changes. It can also be performed as a standalone procedure. In order to reduce the size of the areola, it is usually necessary to have a scar all the way around it. This usually heals well and is placed at the junction between the areola and normal skin to help disguise it.

Yes it is possible to reduce diameter of the areola with skin removal around the base of the areola, but not a lot. If you already have a scar there it could be worth trying.
