What foods should I eat post surgery ?(liposuction) What foods should I avoid? I’m a meat eater but happy to cut it out if necessary. Thanks in advance!
Answer: Which foods after liposuction surgery should I eat vs. avoid? It is important that patients maintain a healthy diet including many fresh fruits, vegetables and protein. However, there are certain foods which naturally contain salicylates, which affect the blood, and should be kept to a minimum two weeks before and two weeks after surgery. Cutting down on these foods will reduce bruising after surgery. A low sodium diet will also help to avoid swelling and discomfort while allowing patients to heal faster after surgery. Proper nutrition and rest can aid healing remarkably. Be sure to follow a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon’s post-operative instructions. Good luck!
