A small amount of coughing is not likely to cause any problem with your TT. If the skin is healing well and there are no areas of abnormal swelling you are likely fine. Check with your surgeon about whether your sit up muscles were sutured back together. If they were, it is likely to be more uncomfortable to cough and you could potentially disrupt the repair with too strong coughing. Be sure to give your abdomen as much support as possible by wearing your abdominal binder and ask your surgeon to recommend a cough suppressant.
Congratulations to you for receiving a #TT! Your question is about #coughing and doing #damage to your TT. If you cough with a lot of pressure, please hold a firm pillow against your abdomen. Try to avoid hard coughs. If you feel a pop sensation or note any area of swelling that is new, please contact your #BCPS. Be well!
Strenuous activity including coughing and sneezing after Abdominoplasty with muscle repair- can loosen or dislodge the sutures. If you must- I would hold a pillow tightly over the abdomen at that time.
Coughing hard after tummy tuck can ruin your results, but you would know for example you may see a bulge that wasn't there before. Please contact our office to get a link to our "7 keys to a great tummy tuck" series.

In 45 minutes under local, one could aspirate and determine if there is a seroma. The treatment of the seroma would depend on how big it is, if it recurs, if it has reformed a bursa. Question is how long has the swelling been present. If it just occurred, it would likely be a seroma. If it...
Swelling can last 3-6 months but your scar will improve over a year. Be patient. Hope this helpsJosh Olson MD
Dear choclatelauraYour safety and newborn's well being take precedence over any aesthetic concern. In case your OB recommends a C-section, it can be done through your TT incision. Otherwise, there are no other general medical concerns.
Thanks so much for your question. It is safe and very easy to remove your sutures as this point. Unfortunately it means you will need a surgery but the scar tissue is the strength holding things together at this point, not the sutures.
In my opinion, with abdominoplasty drainage lasting this long you would probably have what we call a pseudo-bursa. This means that the cavity from which the fluid is coming from has matured in such a way that it will never close off. If you are my patient, I would recommend at this point that we...
