8 days post op, scabs off, are my grafts secure?

I am 8 days post op, my scabs are off and there is obviously some little hairs left..at this point are my grafts secure ? Can sleep on my sides and wear hats ? Do I still need to be careful when touching the tansplanted area ?

Most grafts are secure after 1 week, even if some scabbing is still present.  To be safe I'd avoid any trauma (tight caps) or rubbing to the area for another week. Any concerns always follow up with your Dr.

Hi and thanks for your question.  I have my patients not touch or disturb the grafts for 2 weeks after the transplant.  At 2 weeks everything can to back to normal as far as washing and touching the scalp

It is best to contact your doctor about post operative care and instructions since each doctor has a different regimen.After 8 days your grafts should be secure without much scabbing.

By day 8 your grafts should be securely healed in, though the little hairs will shed.  I let my patients wear hats and sleep however they wish after the first week, but it's never a bad idea to contact your surgeon for his/her personal opinion if it is not addressed in your postop instructions.

Hi, thank you for the question. It is tought, that grafts are secure by the 7th day after hair transplantation. These grafts could only be removed surgically. It is a good idea to wear a hat for several weeks after the surgery making sure it doesn’t press directly on the grafts. Please remember that the grafts were harvested from the back of the scalp from an area that has received very little sunlight. It’s very susceptible to sunburn

In my practice, all of the crusts are removed the day they form, essentially day one, so if you performed good washing than everthing is fine at this point. Now wait for the hair to grow.
