Facial fat transfer didn't last - 6 months out. My fat transfers don't seem to have "taken". At 3 months great! Now 6 months - not so much. The lift now seems "slack". I am happy with the browlift and skin resurfacing results, but often in tears re:fat transfer fail.
Answer: Repeat fat grafting is common First, I'd like to congratulate you on your good surgical outcome. I think there's significant improvement despite losing some fat graft volume 6 months out. It's evident from your recent photo that the fat graft did take and it didn't fail completely. Often times, patients will need multiple fat grafting procedures to attain their desired volume. And despite overgrafting, there's only so much fat that would survive each time due to the limited blood supply. Meticulous surgical technique and how the fat is processed may affect the results. You should consider consulting with your surgeon again for another round of fat transfer. Best wishes.

Answer: Unhappy with fat transfer Thank you for a great question and for sharing your experience and photos. I am sorry you did not get the results you expected. It appears to me that the fat transfer was not a failure and that some was retained, however, it can be repeated if the fat take was suboptimal. I hope you find this helpful. Answer: Fat Transfer Results, Are They Permanent? Fat transfer doesn't always stay fully, post treatment we inject PRP/Sculptra to continue long term viability. However, studies have shown that repeated injections help maintain the volume, so another treatment would be good, however you can use other fillers at this time and maintain your skin type and tightening with non invasive options like lasers, microneedling and radiofrequency or ultrasound. Please see an expert. Best, Dr. Emer.
