This has been done in New York with someone else who posted here so I want 5p know can it be done on California?
Answer: Thin Ankles and Calves -- Fat Transfer Option I do a significant amount of calve and ankle contouring and put fat into calves all the time. Its very very rare for someone to need ankle fat and most often they need it removed. I suggest seeing an expert in leg contouring and get a formal evaluation. Bring in pictures of what you are looking for. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: I have very thin ankles and want fat transfer to the ankles. I do not want calf implants. Is this possible in California? I appreciate your question. Yes it can. However, the likelihood of the fat transfer taking is unpredictable. The main reason for this is the lack of tissue to graft fat into. For grafted fat to survive it has to be surrounded by vascular tissue. The ankles have very little vascular tissue to graft into since they're mostly made up of skin, bones and tendons etc. Fat is generally successfully grafted into fatty tissues or muscle. Fillers are another option to consider. The best way to assess and give true advice would be an in-person exam. Please see a board-certified plastic surgeon that specializes in aesthetic and restorative plastic surgery. Best of luck! Dr. Schwartz

Answer: Fat transfer to ankles It is possible to transfer fat to virtually any part of the body.Success rates are however not the same in different locations.fat transfer to the ankles will most likely not lead to any significant permanent enhancement. The main reason for this is the lack of tissue to graft fat into.In order for grafted fat to survive it has to be surrounded by light vascular tissue. The ankles have very little such tissue to graft into since they're mostly made up of skin, bones and tendons etc.Fat is generally successfully grafted into fatty tissues or muscle. Temporary filler's work and just about any part of the body but can become expensive for areas outside of the face.Best,Mats Hagstrom M.D.
