Hello doctors! I had a horrible BBL done 18 months ago. It has completely changed my shape and looks extremely fake. Sorry, I don't have any pictures to post. I was wondering if Emerald Lazer could help with this area? I have searched everywhere trying to figure out a way if this can be corrected. It doesn't look like traditional Lipo is an option. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. This BBL has ruined who I am. I struggle everyday. Thanks again.
Answer: BBL revision Dear Optimistic2731, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Does Emerald laser really work? Can it be used to reduce a BBL? Not really, all the scientific & medical articles I have read only give minimal results! I use specialized lipo reduction techniques with taping to obtain very nice results. Send photos or virtual please

Answer: Poor BBL results I continue to warn people about the importance of properly vetting a plastic surgeons before having body contouring procedures. Delivering consistent high-quality liposuction and fat transfer results is much more difficult than both people and surgeons believe. The results are permanent and to some degree irreversible. The body change came from a surgical procedure and only a surgical procedure can change it. On top of this revision work is many times more difficult than primary body contouring so the need to find someone very talented and experienced goes without saying. Depending on what was done it may not be possible to restore your body or create a good aesthetic outcome. Some plastic surgeons do things like liposuction the banana roll or upper thigh to try to make the buttocks look larger. The results are horrendous with what I called the lollipop look. If fat has been removed or it shouldn’t be removed then revision becomes very difficult. Simply removing fat from a BBL isn’t that difficult but without seeing pictures we can’t make an assessment. The answer to your question is no. The only way to change the outcome of a BBL it’s with a BBL Revision. I recommend patients have multiple in person consultations before committing to having these procedures. Starting with 5 to 7 consultations seems reasonable but I’ve met patients who have had more than 15. During the consultation of patients should ask providers to show their entire collection of before and after pictures including outcomes they were average above average and less than averages Seeing a handful of selected “example results” is simply just saying the best results and that providers carrier. It does not give a clear representation I would average results look like It does not give a clear representation I would average results look like. The great majority of patients do not get results similar to the best pictures shown during many consultations. And experienced provider should have no difficulty showing you 50 or more sets up before and after pictures and highly experienced providers will have hundreds or possibly thousands for just this procedure. I also recommend reading all the reviews on various physician review websites paying close attention and avoiding providers for any significant number of justified negative reviews. The absence of justified negative reviews is more important and more telling than having an abundance of positive reviews. All patients should have a copy of their before and after pictures. Your surgeon has those and you should ask for a said to be forwarded. They are part of your medical record and you have a right to your before and after pictures. The same is true for your operative report Which you should ask for as well. We’re going for consultations for a second opinion or revision surgery’s patients should come prepared bringing before and after pictures in a copy of the operative report so the new surgeon has some idea of what was done. Different surgeons do the BBL in very different ways. There isn’t anyone standard way so the results are all over the place. Not everybody is a good candidate for the procedure in the first place. If you haven’t done so the first step is to follow up with your provider and talk to him or her about doing revisions. Obviously you may have lost faith in that person. That happens all the time. Like I said earlier doing Revision Work is many times more difficult than doing Primary work so it goes without saying you need a very talented surgeon if you’re going to try to get this corrected. The same process applies for Revision Work. Patient’s shouldn’t rely on in person consultations exclusively. revision Work is far too complex to assess properly with pictures. Recognize that revision work is very time-consuming and for some patients would can be achieved with a secondary procedure is limited. In some cases getting an appropriate result may require a few procedures. Get copies of your pictures. You can always re-post on real self with your before and after pictures once you’ve obtained them. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD

Answer: BBL Revision You are encouraged to consult a BBL revision specialist. Vaser liposuction has proven to be one of the most effective liposuction revision techniques. The definitive correction for liposuction deformities requires the advanced technology of ultrasound assisted VASER liposuction. As an official trainer of VASER liposuction, I encounter suboptimal liposuction outcome referrals weekly. VASER liposuction has been the only modality that has consistently corrected liposuction caused deformities. VASER liposuction ensures a smooth contour regardless of severity of contour irregularities by virtue of being able to remove any and all remaining fat comprehensively and uniformly. Finally, when skin redundancy irregularities are observed, Renuvion technology can be simultaneously applied to tighten your skin to optimize your overall contour outcome. A Skype or FaceTime consultation with a VASER specialist will help you get an accurate recommendation and pricing. Respectfully, Arian Mowlavi MD, FACS Realself 100 Hall of Fame Inductee
