Answer: BBL results Dear thatonegirlok, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: BBL issues Your buttocks is too heavy at the base. This is not an easy problem to fix without the possibility of skin contour issues. There is no right answer but I agree with a revision BBl to improve your shape. Dr. Taranow

Answer: BBL revision using a lateral thigh and buttock tuck Your deformity is created by buttock skin redundancy and uneven distribution of your fat creating a suboptimal buttock shape. Body tight was not the appropriate fix for your problem. The definitive correction can only be achieved with a upper buttock tightening, called a lateral thigh and buttock tuck. In addition, using the BBL assessment tool, you will have the opportunity to choose your favorite buttock shape and size. Please consider a virtual consultation with a high defintion BBL specialist.

Answer: Revision surgery My practice has been specializing exclusively in only Liposuction and fat transfer for the last 10 years. I’ve been a board-certified plastic surgeon for 22 years. From having done over 8000 Liposuction and fat transfer procedures which is far more than the great majority of plastic surgeons will ever do in their career I can tell you that delivering consistent high-quality Liposuction and fat transfer results is more difficult than most people believe. Revision Work is many times more difficult than primary work. Your first BBL was done incorrectly and the liposuction of your thighs made it virtually impossible to correct. No plastic surgeon could’ve corrected that outcome with a single revision and had it come back looking normal. The amount of money people spend for surgical procedures has no correlation to the quality of outcome. Plastic surgeons are either talented or they’re not and it’s up to each individual patient to find the most talented provider for their procedure. Personally I would’ve most likely not taken on your revision because it is too difficult to achieve something that most people would be happy with. Once a plastic surgeon takes on a Revision from somebody else’s mistake they now on the outcome and are blamed for the bad work done during the first procedure. Revision Work is unrewarding because it is so difficult and often you simply cannot no matter how talented you are fix what was done wrong during the first procedure. In the end each plastic surgeon is responsible for their own outcomes and each patient intern is responsible for the surgeons they choose. In your posted before and after pictures I see a big improvement especially with the fat grafting in the lower thigh. I personally would not expect more of a result with a single procedure. My best guess is that revising this to an acceptable outcome would require at least four operations and that’s what I would’ve told you if you came to my office. Your situation was too complex and too difficult to correct with a single procedure. The biggest mistake your first surgeon dead what’s a Liposuction of your upper thigh. To restore fat after liposuction almost always requires multiple sessions of fat transfer because the area after liposuction is devoid of sufficient host tissue to support volume fat graft. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of properly vetting plastic surgeons before having both Liposuction and fat transfer procedures. Patients who are drawn to surgeons who deliver exaggerated results should accept and exaggerated and to some degree unnatural or cartoonish outcomes. When that type of work is done it becomes more difficult to correct the outcomes and bring back and natural contour. Taking on revision work it’s fairly undesirable work because the type of work is so difficult and patients are generally never happy. Revision Work usually consumes long hours of discussion during consultations and postop visit and for this reason doing primary work is far easier and in general more desirable.
