Yes, the new device causes less pain and discomfort for patients, because it requires less suction. In our practice, we combine Coolsculpting with Vanquish for a Fire and Ice treatment and are getting great results. VASER with ThermiRF is another great alternative. Best, Dr. Emer

Thank you for your question. The CoolAdvantage definitely has some great benefits! In our practice we have seen much less swelling and discomfort, it doesn't have as strong of a suction as the previous hand pieces. So the treatment is more comfortable, and we haven't had as many reports of discomfort after. However it is still possible to have swelling, numbness, and some cramping sensations in the treated area. 

The new applicator requires less time to obtain same results. With old applicator, treatment would last for hours, while with new applicator treatment lasts 30 minutes. It is true that there is less discomfort associated with the new applicator. Again, some discomfort is still present since it still involves suction but at a lesser degree. Good luck!

The new CoolAdvantage handpieces have revolutionized Cool Sculpting. Instead of it taking an hour to perform each treatment, the new applicators are applied for only 35 minutes. The CoolAdvantage handpieces are slightly bigger than the original handpieces and they produce even better results and with even less discomfort.  Cool Sculpting was never very painful but with the new CoolAdvantage applicators it is even better tolerated.

In our practice, we greatly prefer the CoolAdvantage family of applicators because of the reduced pain and sensations during and after treatment.   Since its a newer advancement of the original applicators, it will take time to compile studies and statistics, but what we have seen from our patients is that pain is greatly reduced, if not at all experienced with just as great, if not better, results when compared to the original applicators. 

Some remark that the newer applicators do not suction as much, and we have seen that this is not always the case. Most times you get equal if not more suction depending on the unique positioning of fat that is being treated 

Hello My2kin04,Thank you for sharing your question. Please realize that these applicators are new to the market and thus the widespread clinical use/information is less than from the original equipment. Based on the new design that requires less suction and more uniform cooling for less time the information we have to date does indicate an expectation of less pain and potentially improved results from the first generation. Also understand pain is VERY subjective and will vary greatly from person to person. Time will tell your response; likely you will be pleased. Be well. 

This is true from my experience and through the company's research. It needs less suction and cools more uniformly, both of which contribute to less pain in my opinion. Cooladvantage is also a faster treatment, 35 minutes vs 1 hour. Also I have heard that results are seen sooner than with the older handpiece. I add the Zimmer Z wave and this also decreases the post procedure pain and improves outcomes 68-100%.
