I had 330cc implants placed recently and love my results, however due to my pre surgery anatomy, my left breast has quite a bit more side boob that is a lot more obviousafter surgery. (Right breast in photo). I was wondering, if I asked my surgeon to tighten the pocket to bring that side to a more medial position, would that work or am I just seeking the impossible? The extra side boob bothers me, but I otherwise love my results!
Answer: Nicer cleavage Dear Heidi, Thanks for posting your pictures. From observing your pictures you appear to have the following findings : 1. Wide cleavage 2. Upper pole sharp cut off with an unnatural jump. 3. Left sub mammary crease higher and implant displaced laterally due to capsule contracture . 1. Wide cleavage is a result of not sufficiently dissecting the medial attachment of the Pectoral muscles. You will get a nicer cleavage with additional dissection of the medial margin of the pocket. 2. The sharp cut off at the upper pole can be softened by dissection of the pocket up to the Clavicle (collar bone) which will create a nice slope. 3. The higher left sub mammary crease and the lateral displacement of the implant are a result of capsule contracture. Inferior capsulotomy (scar release) and possible lateral capsulorrhaphy (internal bra) will correct the asymmetry and improve on your cleavage. Always, consult with experienced board certified plastic surgeons who operate in accredited surgery center for your safety. Most importantly, check the before and after pictures of redo breasts augmentation in the photo gallery to make sure that they are numerous, consistent and attractive with nice cleavage, perky, symmetrical and natural looking. Best of luck, Dr Widder widderplasticsurgery.com

Answer: Revision surgery Dear Heidi526, breast revision surgery is the most difficult plastic surgery procedure performed. Botched breast surgery alters normal tissue planes and laxity, the ability of breasts to heal properly, and leaves scar tissue that dramatically affects the level of difficulty of the corrective surgery. Many patients come in to correct poor outcomes from their initial surgeries. The most common problems are due to implant malposition, bottoming out of the implant, poor scarring, and incorrect implant size. While the type of revision required will depend on the result of the previous surgery and the desired result of the patient, some revisions involve extensive pocket repair that may or may not need specialized external bras.If you are considering breast surgery revision, you should speak with a board certified plastic surgeon and have yourself properly assessed. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Also, you have to make sure that your surgeon understands your breast augmentation goals.
