Hi there,A septoplasty by itself will not fix a droopy nose. You need to modify the cartilages that make the droopy portion of the nose to change it. Rhinoplasty at the time of septoplasty can be done to modify the cartilages of the nasal tip in conjuction with the septum and reshape the tip of the nose.Hope this helps
A septoplasty is performed in the back of the nose when there is blockage of airflow due to twisted bone and cartilage, known as a deviated nasal septum. A septoplasty will not change the shape of those. A rhinoplasty procedure changes the shape of the nose by lifting the droopy tip, shaving down of dorsal hump, and releasing the depressor septi ligament that pulls the tip down when smiling. For many examples and more information about the differences between the 2 procedures, please see the video and the link below
In general, a septoplasty will not fix a droopy nose. Whoever, sometimes a small additional procedure through the septoplasty approach can fix a droopy tip without the need for an extensive Rhinoplasty.
Dear Evin, A septoplasty will not correct a "droopy tip" however a septorhinoplasty is a combined procedure the "septo" portion addressing the functional aspects of the nose and the "rhino" portion addresses the aesthetic issues of the nose i.e. droopy tip. If you need both aspects addressed then this is your better option. Best regards, Michael V. Elam, M.D.
No, a septoplasty will correct a deviated septum that is causing airway obstruction. A droopy tip would require a rhinoplasty to fix it.

A septoplasty is performed to improve airflow dynamics through the nose by straightening it to improve air flow. A caudal septal deviation just means that the end of the septum that is visible is deviated. When the columella is hanging as presented in the photographs, a...
