Hi Brad, Fraxel and/or CO2 are best for resurfacing, but Erbium is a good alternative. I always combine lasers with microneedling/PRP for more robust outcomes. For skin tightening, I recommend a combination of Ultherapy with RF treatments and Sculptra for skin tightening. I suggest getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist to determine the best device and treatment plan for you. Best, Dr. Emer
The fully ablative CO2 laser is the gold standard for dramatic and long-lasting effects. However, the gold standard is tarnished when one evaluates the side effect profile versus other options. Is the downside risk worth it? As with any other cosmetic procedure, it is the physician that is more important than the device itself. A full discussion of diagnosis and treatment options is necessary.Good luck.Jeff Rapaport MD FAADRealself All-star
I still love fractional Co2 for the outcomes it provides. However, I adore combination laser treatments that incorporate the fractional Co2 with other non ablative lasers. The outcomes are always superior to Co2 alone.Warmly,Arbella Sarkis, MD
For the appropriate patient, I still consider fractionated CO2 the "gold standard" for skin resurfacing.

Following CO2 laser skin resurfacing, you should wait until your skin is smooth, pink, and free of crusting before applying makeup, which typically takes 1–2 weeks. Applying makeup too soon can lead to irritation and infection. Your provider will inform you when it is safe to start wearing m...
PIH is seen UNIVERSALLY in Skin type 4 and above with moderate density CO2 fractional laser. This should be discussed with your dermatologist. PIH can be reduced by the use of adequate SPF, and also HQ. Lasers such as pico or nano QSL can easily address PIH. All the best, Dr Davin S. Lim. Bri...
Post Co2 redness is not uncommon for your type of skin. I recommend more time between sessions to allow for your skin to calm down. Pushing things with other treatments while still irritated can lead to hyper-pigmentation. Especially with your type of skin. In the mean time, use very...
