When can I wear makeup after CO2 laser on my face?

Hello! I had CO2 laser on my face a month ago and now I’m wondering can I wear makeup already? Also, should I use an highly spf separately, before makeup or I can go with a foundation which has spf? Thx in advance!

Following CO2 laser skin resurfacing, you should wait until your skin is smooth, pink, and free of crusting before applying makeup, which typically takes 1–2 weeks. Applying makeup too soon can lead to irritation and infection. Your provider will inform you when it is safe to start wearing makeup again.

Hello! Thank you for your question. We recommend the use of makeup after CO2 Laser no sooner than 14 days post treatment. Your skin is healing and you do not want to introduce bacteria to the treated skin too soon in order to avoid infection. You can begin using SPF in addition to your makeup foundation with SPF once your skin has completely healed and no longer has crusting. The SPF should be a minimum of SPF 35. The key to a good result is proper post care and protection of the new skin.

Yes you can. One month has passed. Post op care including the use of sunscreen and make up will ALWAYS be discussed in extensive detail by your Dermatologist or Plastic Surgeon after the procedure. This is because your innate healing and post operative care will have a SIGNIFICANT impact on the results post laser.
