I am looking into getting kybella on my chin area but while going to consults around my area many injectors haven't been able to give me an answer. About 3 years ago I had double jaw surgery (Bimaxillary osteotomy).I am completely healed but My question is would kybella have a bad effect or interaction in any way considering that I have screws/plates in my face or should I not be concerned at all? Should I get in contact with my oral surgeon to ask about kybella/any injections?
Answer: Neck Sag -- Fillers Like Belotero, Silk; Fraxel or Erbium Laser; Botox/Dysport/Xeomin; Sagging needs Neck Lift, Renvion/Vaser kybella can be used anywhere there is fat but I find that the jawline never does well. id suggest facetite, threads, morpheus to this area. if you want a dramatic change necklift/facelift, Implants and fillers will give you that. noninvasive will improve the area and facetite, threads, morpheus, and fillers can be used. start at home dermarolling to tighten you skin, see emeragecismetics.com where we do free skincare consults daily and recommend MTS roller with anteageMD ampules daily (see dermarolling package). With significant neck sagging you would need a neck/face lift with muscle tightening (platysmaplasty). at the same time lasers (fraxel, co2 or erbium( or microneedling RF (fractora, intensif) can be . performed to improve the crepe skin or wrinkles. You need a formal consultation, as the neck can be treated with a combination approach: 1. micro needling and lasers for texture 2. botox, disport or xeomin to help platysmal bands 3. intensif or fractora RF microneedling for crepe skin and lifting 4. fillers like belotero, restylane silk, juvederm volbella to improve lines and folds 5. neck/face lifting if sagging is prominent or early starting +/- platysmaplasty (muscle tightening) 6. J plasma/Renuvion, thermiRF, inmode facetite for internal tightening 7. ultherapy and thermage for external tightening 8. regular Venus legacy, exilis ultra, or inmode forma treatments with facials to maintain tightness 9. PDO novathreads or silhouette instalift cone threads for lifting and long-term collagen production see an expert for a full evaluation and treatment plan based on your individual situation and goals. Answer: Kybella Dear OL233, Kybella typically takes 3 to 5 treatments to work. This is why I've stopped carrying Kybella in my office. I recommend neck liposuction more often then any injectable procedure for the neck now. It provides superior results gives me more control over the area than any injectable. It also costs about the same as what you paid for your first kybella session. The liposuction can be done under local while awake in the office and recovery is about the same as kybella. Answer: Chemical fat distraction after by maxillary osteotomy Kybella should be fine after being completely healed from it by maxillary osteotomy. Most likely the reason your injectors don’t know how to answer your question properly it’s because they’re not trained board-certified plastic surgeons but most likely nurses who are working on behalf of a doctor or running a med spa. The treatment should be fine and I see no reasons why it’s contraindicated. I do think that liposuction it is a superior treatment option in every regard. Liposuction has less inflammation, less postoperative swelling or predictable and consistent results in a single treatment. Almost all plastic surgeons I know have given up on this treatment other than having their nurses do it and instead recommend liposuction. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
