I believe the expiration date has more to do with the sterility of the product rather than the effectiveness in most cases. So, expired Kybella may still be effective but it may no longer be sterile.
no do not use expired product. it can be unsafe and not work. also kybella has fallen out of favor more people are doing facetite or renuvion lipo for better results. Best, Dr. Emer.
Dear Honest769712,I would not use an expired product. Kybella typically takes 3 to 5 treatments to work. This is why I've stopped carrying Kybella in my office. I recommend neck liposuction more often then any injectable procedure for the neck now. It provides superior results gives me more control over the area than any injectable. It also costs about the same as what you paid for your first kybella session. The liposuction can be done under local while awake in the office and recovery is about the same as kybella.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Medicines have expiry dates so you know when to use them by. After the expiry date it may not be safe or as effective. Refrain from using the expired Kybella, as it will not be effective anymore. Always consult with a board certified medical provider.
Safety and efficacy may be compromised in an expired product, particularly when there is a 3 year lapse.I have to wonder why one would want to, I am hoping that expired medications are not being marketed.See a qualified dermatologist for the safest and most effective treatment.Take care and be safe!
As a professional in the injections industry, I would not recommend using expired product. Expired product can affect safety and quality.

Hi @Cheeky84! Another great option is Morpheus 8. Morpheus8 is a non-surgical treatment for full body skin resurfacing, skin tightening, and fat reduction of stubborn areas. It uses minimally invasive fractional radiofrequency energy (RF) to penetrate the skin deeper than other microneedling...
Hi, I’m Lauren, the aesthetic injector here at Colorado Plastic Surgery Center. Kybella is an excellent non-surgical option for reducing small to moderate amounts of submental fat—commonly known as a "double chin." To ensure the best results, it’s important to consult with a skilled provi...
