I had submental chin lipo six years ago. My chin is uneven now, no huge lumps, just an overall unevenness. Will Kybella help?

I am 43 years old with fairly tight skin yet. My chin appeared lumpy to me shortly after the procedure already but my plastic surgeon said, "what lumps?" Other people have told me my chin looks uneven, I don't want to go back to my original plastic surgeon since he dismissed my concerns originally. I am wondering if Kybella might be an option for me or if there is another procedure I haven't heard of? Thank you!

​It takes a series of treatments to get good results with Kybella. Keep in mind, Kybella is good for dissolving the submental fat under the chin area while contouring the jawline and making the chin more defined, but a combination approach is needed to get the most improvement with non-invasive options. I recommend a combination approach with Thermage, Ultherapy, and Exilis.

Kybella typically takes 3 to 5 treatments to work. This is why I've stopped carrying Kybella in my office. I recommend neck liposuction more often then any injectable procedure for the neck now. It provides superior results gives me more control over the area than any injectable. It also costs about the same as what you paid for your first kybella session. The liposuction can be done under local while awake in the office and recovery is about the same as kybella.

A full set of facial photographs are going to be required to make a determination about how best to proceed.  It is important understand that liposuction only removes the fat deposits above the platysma muscle  while a surgical neck lift is required to remove the fat pockets below the platysma muscle which also includes a platysma-plasty to significantly improve the jawline. No skin removal is required.  Open liposuction rather than closed liposuction may offer some benefit to smooth out irregularities and remove  any residual fat.
