I understand Bellafill cannot be easily removed but since it is stated that it "lasts 5 years", can I be hopeful that it and it's effects WILL be gone after 5 years? Even though it causes us to produce our own collagen? Mine has been in my face for about 2 years so this is not a matter of swelling. My cheeks are too big and puff up too much under my eyes causing my eyes to look more sunken in and squished up and more wrinkly underneath them, and my cheeks are just too big, they look dumb.
Answer: Fillers Such as Juvederm, Restylane, Voluma, Silk, Radiesse, Sculptra, Bellafill; Fat Transfer/Renuva I suggest posting photos and speaking to your physician. bellafill becomes collagen very quickly and isn't "in your skin" after a short time period but stimulates your own collagen production. you will need long term management of your fillers to get the best contour and I suggest RF treatments to further improve the tightening and lifting. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Permanent Filler with Long term Complications Bellafill filler can cause nodules and chronic edema, soft tissue reaction, and longterm problems. We specialize in the removal of Bellafill on the face and see patients with old and new PMMA filler problems. Bellafill will eventually form scar tissue around the permanent filler. We recommend a combination approach of filler reversal with enzymes, corticosteroids, and scar tissue modulators. Our HIDEF approach can break down filler scarring and granulomas so that they are less apparent. If the filler material itself does not dissolve, it either means the filler is unresponsive to conservative therapy. This technique may be followed by surgical removal of the filler if there is a suitable target for removal and the chance of scarring is low. We remove Bellafill filler from the lips, nasolabial folds, and eyelids. Cheek Bellafill is difficult to remove surgically. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Will Bellafill be gone in 5 years? Bellafill shows that it can last at least 5 years in their study. It didn't follow the patients longer in the study but has another study going out 10 years. It is not metabolized by the body and will continue to give a correction much longer than 5 years. To reduce the correction, consider injections with 5FU or steroids. As your face ages, there will be volume loss which will bring the correction down as well.

Answer: Bellafill Duration The FDA trial on Bellafill showed that about 82% of patients were still satisfied with the results of Bellafill even at 5 years after initial treatment. Studies also suggest that some of Bellafill’s collagen-stimulating effects are still present even 10 years after treatment. However, Bellafill treatments do not halt the aging process and we continue to age and lose volume in our face so some of your puffiness may improve, from further volume loss, as each year passes. You may want to get a second opinion since if your cheeks are too puffy relative to the hollowing in your eyes, filling your lower lid hollows may balance out the overly puffy appearance of your cheeks. I would recommend seeking a BellaDiamond injector.
