How long does it typically take to start seeing results with Bellafill for acne scars.

The initial response is mostly related to the collagen carrier which is absorb in about 6 weeks. It takes 3-4 months to see your own body's results kick in. It will continue to get better from there. 

Bellafill gives a more permanent solution to fill acne scars that are of the type where filling them is an appropriate solution.  Bellafill will give an immediate improvement right after the treatment.  Repeat treatments are often necessary to maintain the results.

Bellafill is a hybrid product consisting of 80% bovine collagen and 20% PMMA. The bovine collagen is relatively short-lived, about 2 months. The PMMA is permanent. So there is immediate improvement after Bellafill treatment of acne scars. The initial improvement often backs off as the bovine collagen is dissolved. The next treatment session adds to the benefit from the first one, and so on. Depending on the extent and severity of the acne scarring, we often plan a series of treatments over a 6 month time period.

Another important point is that optimal treatment of acne scaring involves multiple modalities – Bellafill, PDO threads, laser, microneedle, and Ultherapy all play a role.
