When it comes to discount surgery its important to be very cautious where you go. The only safe way that I know of to get a discount on surgery and still ensure to have it done properly would be to seek out a residency training program in your area where the surgery will be performed by a trainee but supervised by a board-certified surgeon. The other option is of course to consider financing. Unfortunately, when it comes to free surgery you are not likely to find a surgeon because the costs of performing an operation are significant. If it were only a matter of donating our time, I am sure lots of surgeons would consider pro-bono work, however it costs thousands of dollars merely to open the operating room for the day and pay staff etc. Hope that helps!

Costs of surgery generally include 3 different types of expenses.  First is the facility fee.  Unless the surgeon owns the operating room the facility fees must be paid to the hospital, surgery center, et cetera.  Second are the anesthesia fees.  Generally the surgeons do not own the anesthesiology practices and therefore the anesthesia fee must be paid separately.  Finally, there are the surgeon's fees.  These may include costs of equipment before the surgery, fees paid directly to the surgeon for their expertise and labor, postoperative visits, and compression garments.  While it is possible that you may find someone to give you a discounted rate is unlikely that they will actually donate their time and their money to help you with a surgery which is not medically necessary.  I hope this helps to explain matters.  Best of luck in your efforts.

Thank you for your question, and I am sorry that you are having to deal with this body contouring issue.  It will be extremely difficult to find any surgeon willing to do liposuction for free or half off as part of the expense is out of their hands.  Liposuction cost does not solely entail a surgeon's fee, but also anesthesia and facility costs.  If you are interested in pursuing surgery, there are financing options available through companies like CareCredit, and you may be able to find a plastic surgery practice willing to do in-house layaway or financing to place the surgery within easier reach.

The specific surgeon's credentials/experience level (or lack thereof), the specific geographic area you are looking at, the different operations available, the location of the procedure (quality of surgery facility), type/quality of anesthesia provider… are some of the potential variables involved. You will find some average costs of surgery on this website and on individual plastic surgeons' websites as well.
In regards to outcome of the planned procedure, more important than costs of the procedures will be careful selection of your plastic surgeon. I would suggest starting with the American Society of Plastic Surgery and/or the Aesthetic Society of Plastic Surgery to obtain a list of well experienced board-certified plastic surgeons.
Then, I would suggest you visit a few surgeons whose practices concentrate on aesthetic surgery. Ask to SEE lots of examples of their work AND preferably speak/see patients who have had similar procedures done.
Be very careful with your decision-making. You will find, while doing your due diligence, that there are many different “specialties” who will offer their services to you; again, I strongly recommend you concentrate on surgeons certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.  I would also suggest that you do not base your selection of plastic surgeon primarily on costs of surgery; keep in mind that revisionary surgery may be more costly in many ways. Although you would not be able to get the procedure done for free, there are many financing options that are available which make it much easier to afford the procedure you are looking for.
