More specifically, hair protein degradation occurs at wavelengths of 254nm-400nm, while UVB is responsible for hair protein loss while UVA is responsible for color changes. On newly transplanted hair, the hair can be damaged by free radicals and photochemical degradation.

Answer: Sun exposure- when to apply sunblock after a hair transplant Unless you had grafts transplanted on the temples, you should be wearing a hat from day 1. Pts should be able to apply spray sunblock once all the scabs have healed. This time period ranges anywhere from 7 to 10 days. It depends on if you are a quick healer.
