Hi,I had my rhinoplasty with turbinates reduction on 1st of August 2018.I had a hump on the bridge, and long, drooppy nose. The hump is solved, the nose is smaller, although I'm not that happy with the tip,in my opinion looks droopy. Can this be result from swollen tip,it will lift once the inflammation decrease?or this is it? My surgeon said I have lots of skin that needs to settle on the new cartilage.
Answer: How long until I see my final rhinoplasty results? 1 year Thanks for sharing your question. I can appreciate your concern. 4 months after your rhinoplasty a significant amount of swelling is gone. Scar tissue has formed and remodeling and contraction is next in your healing process. I personally think that the projection of your nose is adequate and flows very well with your new dorsum. There is a subtle supra-tip break. There is always an option for fine tuning to achieve your desired look. Finally, make sure that your doctor is aware of your process. She/He should be able to guide you best in your care. Wishing you the best in your journey IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: It is difficult to say what is exactly happening with your case without a physical examination, testing or having done your surgery. It is imperative that you have a thorough examination by a board-certified surgeon. Only then, you may weight better the options to fix your current concerns.

Answer: Swelling on the Tip of the Nose After Rhinoplasty Hello Nicoletamitrea, From your images, while the tip may be slightly larger than you want, it is possible that this is due to swelling and scar tissue as this is often the slowest part to heal. Swelling can take more than a year to disappear so it’s important that you stay patient and consult with your surgeon on a regular basis to track your results. I recommend you keep your surgeon informed about your concerns so that they can put together the adequate action plan for you. I treat my patients with anti-inflammatory (anti-swelling) medicine to reduce swelling faster and speed up patient’s recovery. Best of luck moving forward. Dr Julian De Silva

Answer: Rhinoplasty Swelling after a rhinoplasty may take a year to resolve. If excessive scar tissue is forming sometimes a steroid injection will help, (usually not in the tip). Be patient and follow the advice of your surgeon. They are in the best position to advise you on treatment options.

Answer: Tip swelling You are still early and I would expect more swelling to go down. Usually the tip is the last thing to decrease in general so give it a bit more time. Your surgeon could possibly inject some steroids to help it improve quicker, but usually around the one year mark things have resolved as much as they will. Best of luck
