Can I stretch one on my nostrils overtime to match the other without surgery?

Question

Ever sense I was little I had trouble breathing out of the right side of my nose and the right nostril has always been smaller than the other. I've had deviated septum surgery but I got scared and didn't have the doctor fix the nostril out of fear that he might mess it up. That was almost 2 years ago and my breathing is fine, but my nostril is still small and I want nothing more than the two to be even! Is there any way I can naturally attach the nostril with time?

Thank you for sharing your question. Unfortunately without a series of photographs it is difficult to offer definite advice but in general nostril size is best controlled through surgery.  Be sure to see an ASPS board certified plastic surgeon in consultation to discuss.

No, surgery us needed to improve nostrils or overall shape. However, facial fillers (voluma, restylane, juvederm) can be used to improve the symmetry of the nose. See an expert for a formal evaluation. Best, Dr. Emer

Unfortunately the nostrils can't be stretched with time. Many people have asymmetric nostrils and its usually not too noticeable. There are little tricks that can help improve symmetry like adding a touch of filler on the larger side (without impairing airflow).
