I like the width and shape of my nose but I have a bulbous tip. What can I do to fix this? Is there anyway I can avoid surgery? I'm looking for pinched look. Also what can I expect in costs?
Answer: Bulbous tip Thanks for your question. For refining the tip of the nose either a closed or open (my preferred method to get maximum control of symmetry) tip rhinoplasty can be performed. This procedure refines the bulbous area of the nose with minimal scarring. An open technique allows better visualization and control of the paired cartilages which act in conjunction to define your tip shape and symmetry. The ability to see both cartilages simultaneously and work on them together allows the surgeon ultimate control over both the shape and symmetry and, of course, beauty of the nose. Fees for rhinoplasty including the fee for the surgeon, surgical facility, anesthesia, and post operative care will depend on the city and surgeon. With that said it's best to set up a few consultations with different surgeons and make an informed decision based on their experience and speciality in the field. View their before and after photos to see what the outcome could potentially be.

Answer: Non Surgical Nosejob Candidate-- with Fillers (voluma, restylane, juvederm), Botox/Xeomin/Dysport I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist to go over your desired results. Facial fillers (voluma, restylane, juvederm) along with Botox can be used to improve the symmetry of the nose and lift the tip. However, it won't make the nose appear smaller. Surgery would be needed to improve nostrils or overall shape. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Rhinoplasty Dear baileysmith,it is hard to tell without an examination. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Regarding the cost of surgery, it depends on a lot of factors (type of surgery, surgeon, anesthesia, facility fee, city, etc.). Answer: Fixing Bulbous Nose with Non-surgical Nose Job Hi and thank you for your question! It is hard to tell without seeing you and just based on a picture from one angle, but in general, non-surgical nose job is best for issues related with nose bridge and for correction of bumps and humps on the nose. For bulbous tip, sometimes we can make some minor correction by careful injection of filler in the bridge area to generate some lift and pull the tip up, but the final impact might be limited. It would be best to do a consultation and in-person exam with a physician highly experienced in non-surgical nose job to evaluate all the options. I hope it helps and good luck!

Answer: How to fix a bulbous nose? Costs? (Photo) Surgery is the only fix for a bulbous nose that has increased width throughout. Fillers/nonsurgical rhinoplasty won't get you to the goal you're looking to achieve. The best candidates for a non-surgical nose job are typically the following types of patients: 1) Those who want the bridge of their nose raised or who want a hump hidden to achieve a more feminine profile 2) Patients with a nose that deviates to one side or the other. Filler can help make it look more straight 3) Patients with features in the tip that appear too harsh or pointy and need softening. Fillers can help create a much smoother and balanced appearance. What non-surgical nose jobs can't do are help patients narrow their nose, make it project (stick out) less, or help with breathing. For these issues a surgical rhinoplasty is required. It is very important to know that a non-surgical rhinoplasty is a VERY advanced and technically challenging procedure to do safely. Too much filler in any given area can cause issues with blood supply to the skin on the nose so it is essential that you have a physician who is comfortable in rhinoplasty perform the procedure. There must be an utmost respect for the anatomy and blood supply of the nose. In experienced hands it can be done safely and beautifully with results that enhance the appearance of the nose and really help patients feel more confident. Depending on the filler used, the results typically last between 1 and 2 years. The procedure is performed after topical numbing creme is applied and should be performed in a meticulous fashion. This means that the procedure typically takes about 45 minutes. I hope that helps! Jeffrey Watson, MD Rhinoplasty Specialist Graduate, Harvard Medical School
