My top lip is larger than my bottom lip. Would it look odd to only inject my bottom lip with Juvederm? (photos)

You are correct that the lower lid should be a little larger than the upper.  And you do have a slightly larger upper.  However, you have a great shape to the lips, and look nice as you are.  If you wanted you could certainly do filler to just the lower lip to make it a bit larger than the upper.   

I would agree that your upper lip has more volume then the bottom . If you decide to add volume to the lower lip i would be conservative as you have a nice shape to your lip already.

Thank you for the question and the photos. First, you have a very nice shape to your lips and would look great without treatment. Second, the balance between the upper and lower lip volume is typically 1/3 to 2/3. Taking this concept, your lower lip is perhaps a bit smaller than ideal relative to the upper lip.  However, many patients come in for injections to make their upper lips look just like yours already does!  A small amount of filler to the lower lip would be a reasonable treatment. This can certainly be done. It's important to be evaluated by an experienced injector prior to treatment. It is very common to just inject one of the lips to create more volume and improve lip balance. You are totally correct. A common mistake that amateur injectors make is to blow up the upper lip to the point that it is as large or larger than the lower lip. Your lips look very nice but it would definitely be a mistake to add additional filler to your upper lip at this point. You already have full lips with a beautiful shape to them. I recommend leaving them just the way they are. If you do decide to have Juvederm or Restylane injected into the lower lip, be conservative. Don't use a full syringe. 

We use a proportion called the holden Ratio to determine the most harmonious and natural way to inject the face. The upper lip to lower lip ratio should be 1:1.618.  You can have a tiny amount of Juvederm ultra to the lower lip only to achieve this balance.

Hi Anna,You have great lips to start with. With today's trends many people enjoy a fuller bottom lip which could be an option for you. As to bringing more proportion to your face - I might suggest posting a picture of your full face to get a better idea. Fillers to the lips usually are a great enhancement though and with an HA filler like Juvederm you can easily reverse the the results if you are unhappy with them.Hope this was helpful!
