How many dress sizes can I expect to loose after a Tummy Tuck? (photo)

Getting a tummy tuck for my wedding, how much can I expect to loose in pounds or dress sizes? I'm 190 had a baby 5 months ago naturally.

Often after a tummy tuck you will not lose a
significant amount of dress sizing as a tummy tuck is mainly concerned with
removing excess skin in the tummy.  
To reduce dress sizes you would really need
liposuction combined with your tummy tuck surgery and this can often be
combined.
The best thing to do is have a frank and open
discussion with your surgeon about the best way forward for you and the likely
results following surgery.  I do wish you
the best of luck if you decide to go ahead with surgery.

Without performing a physical examination, it is not possible to determine how many dress sizes you will change after tummy tuck surgery. On average in my practice, my patients experience a weight loss of approximately 12 to 15 pounds and a decrease of 2 to 6 dress sizes by six weeks postop. Thereafter, diet and exercise may lead to further weight loss and decrease in dress size.

Thanks for sharing your question.  It is hard to give you any reasonable estimate on change in waist size based on the photo.  An in person exam helps with this estimation.  However, most patients do have a significant change in the way their clothes fit and they often go down a size or two after tummy tuck.  Weight loss with tummy tuck is not always immediate.  In general after healing and returning to normal physical activity patients do notice weight loss, but this is 4-6 weeks after surgery.Visit with a board certified plastic surgeon and have a detailed consultation.  I think this will help you get an impression for realistic goals with surgery.

Thank you for your question.  As others have stated it is impossible to give you an accurate answer.He will notice a decrease in the fullness of your abdomen and if done properly your tummy should look smaller and tighter in any dresses that you currently wear.  However dress size is determined not only by your tummy but by her shoulders and hips and your basic hip and shoulder size will remain the same.

Patients often ask what clothing size they will be after TT or liposuction. It simply doesn't work that way and no one can make that prediction. We can predict that your tummy will have a much more youthful appearance.
