Is It Worth Trying a Trampoline Neck Lift with Liposuction Before Getting a Full Neck Lift?

Question

I need minor liposuction of my chin and a reputable surgeon in the US has offered to include a trampoline lift for the same price because he said the results of liposuction alone will be minimal due to a low hyoid bone and muscles. I'm willing to give it a shot even if it's just a shorter term solution (which I've read it often is) because there's no extra cost but I am worried about looking worse, is there a high risk of scars and disfigurations with the trampoline lift?

Full facelift with liposuction for correction of aging is what you need. There's no reason to do a mini lift and then come back later and do a full facelift Usually these are connected to the cheek portion of the lift to give a smoother result.

The trampoline neck lift involves placing a static suture in the neck. The neck is dynamic and in constant motion. These sutures loosen up over a short period of time and provide no real value. It is best to undergo one procedure and perform a full face-neck lift or a full neck-lift. No skin removal is necessary if you less than 50 years of age. The trampoline lift is based on running permanent sutures back and forth across the neck under the skin. It is always combined with liposuction. It does improve the results of liposuction but having permanent sutures all over the underside of the neck has unknown long-term sequelae.

The trampoline neck lift amounts to having a thick permanent suture placed from one side of the neck to the other. Patients have reported feelings of strangulation and tightness from the clothesline effect of the suture. This has no real effect on loose muscle and excess skin which requires tightening and removal through a formal Neck Lift.
