I'm very conflicted about getting the donut lift. I keep reading horror stories about it but at the same time some of the most respected surgeons that I have followed their work and heard of offer the lift. What is the truth about the donut lift? Are there so many horror stories because they are hard to do correctly?
Answer: Lift The doughnut lift works well in the group of women who mainly need their nipples raised a little higher and don't have a lot of excess sagging skin, or those women with uneven nipples. If you have sagging skin or breast tissue, you will need more lift.

Answer: Breast lift Dear Jamama47, my preferred lift is a lollipop lift when a periareolar won't do (ie greater than 2cm lift required). The lollipop technique was created by a Canadian plastic surgeon named Elizabeth Hall-Findley and treats the breast as a three dimensional structure instead of two dimensions (anchor - lift). Most importantly it does not require the horizontal component scars that the anchor-lift requires and breasts appear much more natural, lifted, and less boxy. Lastly, the lift lasts longer because the lollipop doesn't rely on the skin to hold the breast up, its actually breast tissue thats being brought together to support the breast and hence improves longevity. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Donut breast lift Only on the basis of in person evaluation experienced board certified plastic surgeon can make decision about type of lift patient may need. Circumareolar (donut, Benelli) lift carries a risk of wide scar and flat looking breast if used inappropriately. However, in well selected candidates it can be good way to achieve desired result without significant consequences. Good luck.

Answer: Do I need a breast lift? I recommend an in person consultation with a plastic surgeon to discuss your goals and be measured. After I do this with my patients, we then look at pictures of women with similar measurements. My patients tell me that this process is very helpful in determining what is right for them. Answer: Donut lifts are rarely done Hello, Thank you for your inquiry. In order to provide the best valid medical opinion, pictures of what your breasts look like as well as 'goal pictures' are necessary. Unfortunately, donut lifts do come with their fair share of potential problems such as puckering, only being able to lift the breast a very little amount, and repeat sag. They are usually only recommended to a minimal subset of the population. I am the only surgeon in Canada who preforms both the traditional breast lift, as well as the 'no vertical scar' bellesoma breast lift. We also offer the option of Galaform biodegradable mesh which acts as in 'internal bra' to help support your existing breast tissue and helps strengthen and 'thicken' your existing tissue. From here you can choose to further alter your aesthetic by incorporating a fat transfer or implants to give a rounder, upper pole fullness to your breasts. There are many different factors that go into choosing a breast implant size which will correspond with your body dimensions while concurrently achieving your aesthetic results. Some of these factors are: Implant size (CC's), Implant profile (Low, Moderate, High), Placement of the implant (Subglandular vs. Dual Plane) etc. During a consultation your aesthetic goals are heard and taken into account with the measurements of your breasts and the integrity of your tissue, as well as level of ptosis (sag). From here we collectively can find your 'perfect fit'. You are able to try out sizers and different implants in our office such that you can get an idea of what size you would be post-operation. We encourage you check out our website and instagram (drkaraplasticsurgery) for lots of before and after pictures! During the COVID-19, we are offering complimentary online consultations that are secure and private. Please visit our website and fill out the online form.
