I'm 16 and wondering if I can get lipo and tummy tuck?

Ok I'm 16 ,I got pregnant at 14 (125pound) and had my son at 15 (after 190), after a year of trying hard to loose the weight iv only lost 50 ponds , I have horrible loose skin which I want Lipo then tummy tuck , but with my age I was told I would have to wait till I'm 18 is this true?!

Congratulations on your weight loss! You should be very proud of this accomplishment. Yes, you will be able to undergo tummy tuck surgery regardless of your young age. Parenteral consent will be necessary. Generally speaking, the “ideal” patient for tummy tuck surgery is one who has completed pregnancies, is psycho socially/emotionally/financially stable, has an excellent social support system surrounding him/her, is capable of arranging enough recovery time, does not smoke and who has reached a long-term stable weight.When the time is right, seek consultation with board-certified plastic surgeons who can demonstrate significant experience achieving the types of outcomes you would be pleased with. Then, learn about the pros/cons/risks/complications associated with the procedure.  For example, the additional surgery may be necessary in the event of additional pregnancies down the line. The only one that will answer your question is you. If you are planning to have more babies soon, then you should wait to until you finish giving birth.If you are not having any more babies soon then i don't see why you should keep the figure you have just because you are not 18 years Old.  Of course there are some laws for under age patients, Here in DR, if you are married, you dont need your parents consent, if not you will need at least one of them.  I think in the US will be the same.

Hi, thanks for your inquiry. I understand your frustration, but first of all you need to be sure that you wouldn't have another pregnancy soon, you are very young. If the answer is no, you would need your parents consent to have any elective surgery. Make sure that you and your surgeon are on the same page, this is way is better for you to have an in person consultation so you can discuss all your concerns, options and expectations thoroughly. There is no absolute reason why you cannot have surgery. However the decisions to have surgery are very complexand there is no doubt that your parents should probably be involved in the decision-making process.

If you think you may have more children in the future, you should wait until you are done before having tummy tuck as pregnancy will stretch out your results. If you are under 18 and not an emancipated minor,  you will need parental consent.
