I have read about and seen photos on here and other sites of women who were still overweight who had tummy tucks before getting to goal weight. I have lost 90 lbs and have 50 to go to ideal weight, but my large heavy stomach makes exercise very painful and I have to wear compression garmets for sports or the gym. Wondering if this is something to consider for me? I am in Ottawa Canada but willing to travel. Would like estimates and thoughts.
Answer: 50 Lbs To Go! That is quite an accomplishment! Keep up the good work, it will pay dividends in the end.Regarding both your posts-1) Yes it is often possible to perform some body contouring procedures prior to achieving your goal weight.2) Multiple procedures can be combined depending on a persons overall health and the length of each componentOperating on people with higher weight can pose increased risks of certain complications that will need to be assessed and discussed in person. Also when further weight loss is anticipated, you need to expect revision surgery once the goal weight has been achieved. These are significant surgeries that will require close follow up and a great relationship with your plastic surgery team.Best luck in your searchDr Nodwell

Answer: Plus size tummy tuck Hello, a tummy tuck may be a possibility in plus-sized women, depending on their overall health and anatomy. You would need a full assessment to determine if it is appropriate for you. I recommend that patients try to achieve their goal weight prior to surgery, but in reality this can be extremely difficult to accomplish for some people.

Answer: Is plus size tummy tuck an option? Congratulations on your significant weight loss; you should be very proud of this accomplishment. You are not alone; many patients who have experienced significant weight-loss feel that the residual/loose skin is a constant “reminder” of their past. Exactly what operation you should undergo will be a very personal decision best made once you have considered exactly what your personal goals/objectives are. My best advice: carefully consider what you would like to achieve, carefully select your plastic surgeon (make sure that he/she can demonstrate significant experience achieving the types of outcomes you will be pleased with), and carefully communicate your goals. Working together, you will be able to come up with the best course of action. Options that will undoubtedly be discussed will include panniculectomy, tummy tuck surgery, extended tummy tuck surgery, and lower body lifting. Careful consideration of factors such as your medical condition (if any) and safety of combination surgeries will come into play when making recommendations. I hope this, and the attached link (dedicated to patients who have had significant weight loss) helps. Best wishes.

Answer: Plus size tummy tuck! Hello shrinkingbeast. Based on your photos you certainly could be a candidate for a full tummy tuck. Without a full history - to asses your overall health status and an exam, I cannot fully recommend TT surgery online. However, I have done tummy tucks on individuals with similar anatomy if we based it solely on your photos and achieved reasonable outcomes. Being overweight can increase your risks with any surgery, including with tummy tuck operations. You can see photos of patients with similar anatomy on my website. I like to perform the lowest incision possible which makes it better for patients to enjoy their TT result sooner. I always recommend patients consider having surgery of this type at a stable weight. In Scottsdale, we have a large number of Canadians who visit for plastic surgery throughout the year. We are always at your service. Best wishes, Dr. Aldo.

Answer: Is plus size tummy tuck an option? Greetings. Congratulations on your continued weight loss. There is a higher risk of complications with being overweight. Ideally, the additional weight loss would be beneficial to your overall result as well lower the risk of complications. Also, a plastic surgeon could examine you and discuss what is the appropriate treatment plan for your particular situation. Good luck!
