There are several complications that can arise from heavy weight gain after an abdominoplasy. The repair of the abdominal fascia is quitestrong. Weight gain will happen under the skin as well as beneath the muscle (visceral fat). The increase in visceral fat will also increase intra-abdominalpressure. This can cause or worsen reflux as well as hemorrhoids and causediscomfort from the tightness of the muscle layer. Hope this helps,Dr. JSB
Thankyou very much for your question. Gaining60 pounds is a lot of weight and will cause your body to change in a variety ofways. However, without a photograph and specific height/weightinformation, it is difficult to provide any other meaningful advice to yourquestion.
You surely understand that this weight gain would ruin the nice contouring a tummy tuck usually produces. Secondly, you gain much of this weight inside your abdomen, and therefore can stretch the muscles, leading to significant looseness of a previously tight repair.

Gaining weight can ruin the results you had and stretch out skin that has already been tailored. With many patients, a 60 pound weight gain would push their body mass index (BMI) over the threshold of 30, a level at which many surgeon would turn down a patient seeking abdominoplasty due to elevated risks and inadequate improvement. All the best.

Thank you for the question and picture. Generally speaking, it is always best to achieve long-term stable weight prior to proceeding with body contouring surgery. Doing so, will increase the safety of the operation, will likely improve the outcome of the operation, and will decrease chances...
Thank you for your question about your tummy tuck.In a way, both approaches are correct.Your current BMI is 37.5 - this puts you in a higher risk category for complications and you will not have as good a result. But if this is your final weight - and you have lots of excess skin, a tummy tuck...
