Hello, I've had 6 radio frequency treatments now for creepy skin on my neck but recently have felt like my neck looks worse. I've just had a look online & saw a doctor's comment that RF treatment on a neck with little fat can actually make crepe-like skin look worse as RF destroys fat cells. Is this true please? I'm considering Botox in my neck (a Nefertiti lift) instead. Do you think this is better? I also have mild bands. I know it's more expensive but hope it's worth it. I'm 37. Many thanks:)
Answer: Neck Option I just want to make sure you are understanding the botox is not going to give you improvement in skin texture on the neck although i don't really see that in your picture. I do use Botox to relax the bands but you actually have a beautiful neck and perhaps just doing great skin care with a medical aesthetician will give you the improvement you desire. Best of Luck.

Answer: A resurfacing laser such as Clear & Brilliant can help reduce crepey skin. Recommend doing a hydrating filler as well Fractional laser is an amazing and highly effective treatment in our office. We use the laser treatment to help with acne scars, large pores, fine wrinkles, tissue collagen loss, scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, active acne, and for brightening dark pigmentation. Although there are very strong fractional lasers such as CO2 laser, we use lighter treatments for corrective skincare and maintenance of results. Our Thulium fractional laser, clear and brilliant laser, and Ultra Thulium laser are excellent options in our clinic. We also perform CO2 fractional and erbium depending on skin tone and tolerance for downtime. Patients do have to use a Melarase cream before and after treatment to help further reduce pigmentation after laser. Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads can seriously improve surface sun damage and UV related pigmentation. Dark spots can improve with these treatments. I recommend fractional laser for incisional scars as well, especially after plastic surgery. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: RF treatments for the neck Thank you for your question and picture submitted. It is important to differentiate between skin, fat and muscle issues as they impact the appearance of the neck. You seem to have nice skin and the issue likely a muscle banding issue. For that Botox/Dysport would be the best to try initially.

Answer: Treatments for the neck Thank you for your question AD79. I understand your concern. Botox is a purified protein used to address wrinkles associated with facial expression. In the neck it can be placed in vertical bands to soften them. To address crepiness in the skin resurfacing treatments are recommended. These include chemical peels, microdermabrasion, microneedling, radiofrequency, and fractional lasers. Please consult with a doctor for specific recommendations. Good luck!

Answer: Botox Hi There Thank you for your question and photograph. I think it's difficult to generalise about different RF devices and in my experience most do not affect fat. Probably best see an expert in skincare. Simple interventions are required here nothing complicated. Botox will not help crepe skin. Kind Regards Dr Dinesh Maini Zenith Cosmetic Clinics
