Botox can be very satisfying and beneficial in the chin area to soften the dimpling and smooth the chin when performed correctly. The lopsided smile can occur if not placed properly or if too much was used.  I would recommend a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon who specializes in aesthetic injectables like filler and Botox as the main focus of their practice.  Some physicians may do Botox but focus mainly on surgical procedures. Most cosmetic dermatologists focus on neurotoxins and fillers rather than surgery. Do some research and I know you will receive successful treatment. Best wishes.

is a purified protein used to address wrinkles associated with facial
expression. It can be placed in the mentalis mucle on the chin to help with dimpling of the chin. If it spreads to the nearby DLI muscle it can lead to a temporary asymmetric smile. Injecting the mentalis is pretty easy for pebbled chin. It actually doesn't require much skill. It is possible that your adverse event last time was due to either too high an injection or too lateral an injection in this area. Usually 4 injection points in the lower mentalist of 2 units each is enough for this indication. These injections are into the muscle and not superficial injections. 

Injecting the mentalis to prevent dimpling is a common indication for Botox.  You could call Dermatology practices in your areas and frankly ask if the physician has experience injecting the mentalis.  Another option is finding a Dermatologist whose entire practice is cosmetic in nature.  You can find a lot of experienced injectors on this website as well.

I'm sorry that your first experience was disappointing, as I believe Botox is the best option for what concerns you. Have an experienced injector, someone who spends more time treating cosmetic patients than patients with medical issues, use perhaps a small dose (2-3 units) on either side of the midline of your chin, at the base of the mental area and reevaluate in two weeks. Should more be necessary, then inject a bit more staying close to the midline. This avoids the spread to adjacent muscles that would produce the unwanted change in your smile. Using Botox and Xeomin would also be safer than using Dysport in this area because Botox and Xeomin have a smaller zone of effect and therefore are less likely to spread to an adjacent muscle.
