I'm getting my tummy tuck and breast lift on the 18th. I just picked up my prescription and I was supposed to get Celebrex for the day of surgery, a nausea medication and Vicodin. But when I went to pick it up they also gave me Valium…for what I know valium is for anxiety isn't it? but the prescription says "take for pain". I have no way of contacting my doctor over the weekend. Update I didn't try calling the doctor before posting the question. So after posting I did call my doctor and he called me back within 10 mins. He clarified what the Valium was for etc. So I'm glad to know I have quick access to him if I call!

I would warn your surgeon about this so that they are aware. This is not an unusual scenario and is not a contraindication for surgery - as long as your preop Hb is normal etc. Best to discuss with your PS.
Mitral valve prolapse (MVP) is a very common condition. Your plastic surgeon will have you evaluated prior to the procedure to determine what if any additional precautions will be necessary. However, it is not typically considered a contraindication for a tummy tuck.
Thank you for your question. This is a prescription which your doctor will have to prescribe for you if they feel it is appropriate and you have no risk factors to consider. I hope this helps!
