This has affected my self esteem for over 10 years now
Answer: Normal eyelid asymmetry There is very little disparity between your eyelids. I would recommend that you do not alter your appearance at this time and wait until you age to try to correct any minor differences. Surgery could result in a worse result.

Answer: I do this for a living. These slight difference are so minor that no one can see a difference. It is not normal for such a minor difference to affect your self esteem. There is no surgery that will fix this tiny bit of asymmetry. Any surgery that you might have a surgeon agree to perform is likely only to harm you. If you are suffering social consequences from this insecurity (avoiding socializing, avoiding work, spending hours a day preoccupied with thoughts about this) you need psychological help for this. It may be you are suffering from body dysmorphic disorder. Trust me, it is easier to find someone to operate on you than to deal with your feels. However, dealing with your feeling in a constructive way is precisely what you need to do. There is professional help out there.

Answer: Mild asymmetry This is only mild asymmetry and is considered within normal range. It is not worth trying to achieve 100% symmetry. I always assess my patient's face thinking if the area of concern is taking away from the beauty of the face. If it is then I operate, if it is not taking away the beauty of the face then I won't operate. This is not taking away the beauty of your face. Regards Dr. J
