For treating diastasis recti resulting from a difficult pregnancy, the most effective option is typically a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) combined with muscle repair. Directly repairs the separated abdominal muscles (diastasis recti) that cannot be fixed through exercise or liposuction alone. Removes excess skin that often remains after significant stretching during pregnancy. Provides a flatter, more toned abdomen and restores core strength. Vaser lipo is excellent for fat removal and skin tightening but does not address muscle separation. For long-term results and proper correction of diastasis recti, a tummy tuck with muscle repair is generally the best choice. Vaser liposuction can be added for enhanced contouring if needed, but it won’t replace the muscle repair aspect.

It is difficult to go very far with a recommendation without photographs.  No type of liposuction will improve diastases recti.  Sometimes the muscle can be tightened without and incision around the bellybutton, when there is minimal extra skin. You can always strengthen your rectus muscles but the only technique that will ever fully repair them is a sutured diastasis recti repair via abdominoplasty. You have to surgically repair them back into approximation, liposuction will not change muscles at all.

Diastasis recti - the separation and spreading of the abdominal sit up muscles results from pregnancy. As the baby and womb enlarges, the muscles spread further apart.

Unfortunately, exercise cannot restore the disastrous. Only surgically stitching them closer together during a tummy tuck is the only treatment.

Some patients with minimal diastasis and good skin can be treated with Vaser liposuction alone.

However, by itself, Liposuction only removes fat under the skin, it will not repair diastasis. (Liposuction can easily be performed with a tummy tuck).

An exam and consultation with a plastic surgeon is recommended to discuss your best options and expectations.

Unfortunately, you have not provided photographs, told us your age or whether you are planning future pregnancies. If you are not planning future pregnancies then I recommend surgical correction. The best technique to irreversibly correct diastasis recti is abdominoplasty with mesh reinforcement. The mesh creates a more hourglass figure by compressing the abdominal wall resulting in early satiety and helps maintain a reduced weight. Diastasis recti refers to the separate of 2 vertical muscles called rectus abdominal muscles. The separation occurs in the fascia between the 2 muscles. The point of the mesh is that the mesh will reinforce the fascia and double the strength of the abdominal wall.
