Will DHI give me a more natural look than FUE? (photos)

Question

I had severe hair loss from 24 and I am now 28 which almost bald head which can be considered as male pattern baldness. Now I am planning to for a hair transplant surgery. I recently came across DHI treatment which claims to give more natural look because of a slightly different implantation process and more density?? Please advise me on this.

Best treatment for extensive hair loss? You should look into the alternative if you want Immediacy, No texture change of the hair as occurs with transplants, and the best density —The Mayer-Fleming Flap. The only downsides are you have to put up with a tissue expander for 10-12 weeks and 2 minor procedures before the Flap is moved. If the hair is 10 inches long on the side of the head, f 10 inch hair will be inlaid in the front of your scalp the next day! Unlike transplants you can part thru the flap hair without ANY ROWS OF CORN. The hair direction is changed but this is usually not a problem because of the superior density. Also micrografts can be placed to soften any abruptness. If the surgeon is not properly trained the complications can be more severe than transplants. Best to see an actual live patient with progressive baldness and photos where the hair is not styled to cover the area.

My understanding is that the DHI procedure is an FUE procedure, with the same benefits of FUE. That said, my understanding is that DHI uses implanter pens for graft placement, which in my opinion gives a more consistent graft survival rate than forceps placement. This is why we use implanter pens as well for graft placement.

The term DHI, which stands for Direct Hair Implantation, is another name for the sharp implantation technique. Its distinctive feature is that it employs hair implanter pens that create the recipient sites and simultaneously transplant the grafts, instead of creating premade incisions. The use of sharp implanters is not a hair transplant method, but rather a placing technique.

The Hair Transplant methods are FUE and FUT.
The DHI is just a marketing name. It is technique of implantation related to the FUE method.
  
The good natural result is not about the technique used it is about the surgeon experience.
  
The FUE has 3 phases: Extraction, Incision and implantation. With the choi pen technique (known as DHI) the channels and implantation are done in one step. İt is the FUE Method. The choi pen technique is not the keys for the result. The surgeon has to decide which technique is suitable for the patient case according to the baldness level, the graft type.
  
Now days, the marketing is very confusing.
The hair transplant is a solution to restore the baldness not to treat the hairloss.

No, the DHI or donor harvesting with FUExcision technique won't give you the natural results. Surgical planning and surgical technique are the keys in a well trained and experienced hair surgeon that include several steps of the hair transplant surgery. DHI uses an implanter to make the sites and insert the grafts, donor harvesting technique with FUExcision is ONLY a method for extracting the grafts. The recipient site creation with needles and/or blades or implanters is another key for natural results, the angle, direction and tilt of the recipients sites is another key. In summary, we have 5-6 critical and important steps in Hair Restoration Surgery, each of them is very important to achieve natural results and density. But the most important factor is a well trained and experience hair surgeon with his/her staff. Do not be afraid to get a 2nd opinion of your case. Also, the hair transplant won't resolve your hair loss case, you may need medical treatment in the short and long term. Good luck.

FUE Hair transplantation would cover all bald spot in one session of operation and you would have a good, successfull result.But, DHI is just a marketing gimmick.When you look at the web site of  ISHRS (international society of hair restoration surgery ) you will see just 2 tech for HT: FUT and FUE..So , DHI , percutaneus tecnique, golden punch tecnique, ıce graft FUE tecnique, MICRO, sapphire blades  etc are all FUE and there is no difference or superiority between each other.What makes difference on result of hair restoration is surgeon's experience level and accuracy of used FUE technique.

There is no such thing as DHI other than in a name as this is an FUE technique that is marketed as something different. Confusion in the market doesn't help people make good rational decisions
