Can PRP cause cancer?

i am 24 years old male. i have hair fall . my hair fall daily 70 or 80 . now i want to PRP. but some people saye that it is harmful. it can be cause of cancer like skin cancer or brain tumour. so i want to know is it really caused of cancer? help me to clear my curiousity

To date there is no evidence to suggest that PRP therapy causes cancer.It is your own platelets that are being injected so there is no reason to believe they would cause cancer.

PRP involves the concentration of normal blood  to utilize the platelets in the plasma. Since the entire process is autologous, ( your own)there would be no mechanism to cause cancer if plain PRP is used. Hi,thanks for the question.There is no study which has mentioned any association between PRP and skin cancer or tumor.The treatment involves taking your own blood,processing the same and injecting the platelet rich plasma which is rich in growth factors and helps in reducing hair fall.

I am not aware of any link between PRP therapy and cancer. PRP is blood plasma that is drawn from the patient and has been enriched with platelets; basically it is a concentrated source of one’s own platelets. PRP contains several different growth factors that can assist in wound healing and tissue regeneration. When platelet granules become activated, they release numerous growth factors that can aid in wound healing. PRP therapy has been used in the past for dermatology, orthopedics, dentistry, cardiac and plastic surgery to enhance tissue healing. More recently, PRP has been postulated as a new therapy for androgenetic alopecia and to aid in wound healing after hair transplant. I recommend follow up with a hair specialist to learn more about hair loss and potential treatment options.

PRP is simply extracted from your own blood. It is not a foreign substance. As such, I have not seen any link between PRP and cancer.

Of all of the clinical treatments for hair loss, PRP is uniquely the safest as it is derived from your own blood and there is nothing in your blood that causes cancer. It is hypothetically possible if you have circulating cancer cells in your blood that the PRP could contain them, but I have not heard of any reports of this and PRP is extensively used in many areas of medicine besides treating androgenetic alopecia. Tens of thousands of patients have received PRP with any allergic or other negative effects.

There is nothing in PRP that can cause cancer since it is your own plasma.  If something in that plasma was cancer causing you would have that anyway.  But if you don't have cancer there is nothing artificial in the PRP that would make cells grow out of control.
