Will CoolSculpting remove my c-section belly overhang/muffin top? (Photo)

I do not believe you would see satisfactory results with CoolSculpting, as there is simply too much tissue and excess skin for a non-invasive treatment like CoolSculpting to work. A better option is a combination of tumescent liposuction to remove the excess fat and a nonsurgical skin tightening treatment like ThermiTight to ensure the skin conforms smoothly over the new body contour. This procedure could remove excessive fat and tighten the skin without the risk and expense of general anesthesia, as it can be done with light sedation. I encourage you to schedule a consultation with a board-certified physician who has expertise in body contouring techniques. With a treatment plan tailored to your precise needs and goals, you should see good results.

An in person consultation is always recommended to determine if you are a suitable candidate for treatment. Coolsculpting is an FDA cleared treatment for stubborn, subcutaneous fat that kills fat cells through a process called cryolipolysis. This process is a non surgical, proven way to reduce pockets of fat. However, it seems that your main concern is laxity and excess skin issues, which Coolsculpting does not treat. You may want look into a different alternative, such as a tummy tuck. I would recommend to seek advice from a board certified plastic surgeon in your area. Best of luck.

Hello and thank you for your question. The best option for you would be an tummy tuck. CoolSculpting may address getting rid of some the excess adipose tissue, but will not address the excess loose skin that is causing the, "overhang." CoolSculpting procedures can be quite expensive and you would need multiple treatments. You will get the best result with your money spent from a tummy tuck. Consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon is recommended to see which procedure will give you the best results. Best wishes! 

Thank you for your question.  An in person consultation is always best.  CoolSculpting can help debulk the area, but will not address the excess skin causing the belly overhang.  It appears that for the best result, you would opt for a Tummy Tuck Surgery.  CoolSculpting can be a great adjunct before or after surgery as well. 

CoolSculpting can be used to reduce unwanted fat around the abdomen, but it will not tighten skin.  You appear to have an issue with excess fat and skin.  The best result you could obtain would be with a tummy tuck, as this can address both the skin and fat.  CoolSculpting could reduce some of the fat, but you still would have the overhanging skin.  

Hi.  Thanks for the question and the photos.  There's lots of different ways to approach your issue.  It depends on budget, expectations, and what you are willing to go through.  A tummy tuck is your best option, but most expensive, with the most downtime.  CoolSculpting can get rid of the fat that you have, but you will need to treat the area 2-3 times, so cost adds up, and you will have loose skin after.  Lipo will do the same.See a surgeon to get all the options, costs, and make sure your level of expectation can be reached with the money you are willing to spend.   Best of luck,Michael Kerin MDKerin MedSpaTuckahoe, NY

HI there!  Thank you for providing a picture!  From the looks of your picture, we at Laura A. Katz MD PC in Monroe, Mi would recommend a combination of continued diet and exercise as well as Coolsculpting treatments to debulk the fat, followed up with a skin tightening procedure like Morpheus or Bodytite since Coolsculpting offers a very modest skin tightening at best.  I think this combination would give you good results, but like anything, lasting results depend on how well you maintain your weight and stay healthy.  The good news is, there is virtually no down time with this combination of procedures and the cost is considerably less than a tummy tuck.

Judging from your photos, I would say that a tummy tuck would be the most effective cosmetic option for you at this time. CoolSculpting has some mild skin-tightening properties but in situations in which there as been lots of skin stretching and overstretching because of high weight and obesity, I always recommend more involved body contouring procedures, like tumm tuck.

Thanks for your question.  I agree with the physicians below - save your money over time and invest in a tummy tuck rather than CoolSculpting.   You will actually find that the price for a tummy tuck would likely be less than the number of cycles it would take to create even close to a tummy tuck look.  Tummy tucks are incredible procedures when put into the right hands.  It is more than just having a flat tummy. You should also have a defined waist, removal of love handles and back fat, and also a beautiful belly button.   As well, your scar should be incredibly low.  As I call it,  a "permission only" scar.  My patients are proud after their tummy tucks to wear bikinis, form fitting jeans, and body hugging dresses.  I would recommend finding a board certified plastic surgeon who can help to get you started on the correct journey towards a tummy tuck with combined liposuction of the abdomen, love handles and back. Cheers, Dr. Steven Camp

Coolsculpting helps remove pockets of subcutaneous fat safely without any downtime.  I do not believe you are a great candidate for coolsculpting because even though you may receive some result as far as a small amount fat loss, you would still have excess skin and abdominal wall laxity due to stretching from pregnancy and would not be happy with your result. Surgery is your best option in order to achieve the results you are looking for. I recommend you make an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon in your area and discuss all of your surgical options.
